Photo's of Bruge,Belgium

Above is a collection of the photographs I took when I was in Bruge,Belgium last August. Bruge is definitely a beautiful place and so clean. The kind of place you see on chocolate boxes.

Bruge has a network of canals, similar to Venice, but much better maintained. The canals are surrounded by attractive houses and sometimes restaurants. In Bruge there are boat trips which you can take they travel along the canals, which is where I took a couple of photo's in the slide above. But you can also take a horse and carriage ride, which takes you along some of the main roads and through various alleyways. Both this and the boat trip give you a real feel of what Bruge is like.

Taking the photographs was at times a challenge; this was when on the horse and carriage and the boat. This is because you are constantly moving and have to aim just before the place you want to take a picture of to allow for movement. Also you have to be prepared for bumps in the road or sudden backwash. But the photo's came out great, which made the day more memorable.
